After completion of the Basic Keelboat (101) class, students are eligible for the Basic Coastal Cruising (103) class. In this three (3) day class the student will learn how to skipper a larger vessel, docking and maneuvering, and safety requirements for a larger yacht. This is a live aboard class where the students will stay over night on the vessel and learn the mechanical, electrical, and all the necessary components of the yacht to sail by dead reckoning on coastal and bay waters. Confidence building is the key to this class, and after completion the student will be capable to skipper and crew on a larger vessel. The Basic Coastal Cruising (103) class can be combined with the Bareboat Chartering (104) class into a five (5) day combo class at a considerable savings.
