The Advanced Coastal Cruising (106) class is geared for the serious sailor interested in preparing themselves for long distance sailing. The class focuses on preparation, safety, weather patterns, navigation, watch keeping, and sail handling in all weather conditions. Certification for the Advance Coastal Cruising (106) class is achieved after a minimum of three (3) days aboard, traveling 20 miles by day and 20 miles by night. Sailing skills emphasized are sailing in all conditions, keeping a course, anchoring, dinghy handling, and being totally self-sufficient. Prerequisite for this class are ASA 101, 103, 104, and 105. The Coastal Navigation (105) class can be combined with the Advanced Coastal Cruising (106) class.
