NOTE: These are averages, on the Chesapeake (and most coastal areas) there is a sea breeze (Ches-normally from about 12-4PM) where the winds may be well into the teens, but the quiet periods of morning and late evening bring the averages down and account for some areas reputation for light air. Also note the small difference between summer and June or Sept. which are considered prime sailing times--Plan your sailing for afternoons, and motoring or quiet anchorages at other times. Introdution to Catamaran sailing. For Monohull sailors, beginners, small boat sailors--anyone who wants to see what it's all about. We'll let you take the helm as much as you want or can. You'll learn about handling a big, cruising cat (41-48' boats will be used-subject to LGC's availability) under sail or power.Sail, anchor, swim in and around Annapolis--whatever the group wants to do.
